As we continue to be thoroughly impressed with the thoughtful, convenient and luxurious features in our new-to-us 2007 Hyundai Entourage, the question arose, "Which of these are just plain stupid?" It was difficult to ascertain...until we came to the shiftable transmission. While the corporate parts-bin derived transmission is excellent, with minimal hunting and smooth, seamless operation, the ability to shift-for-youself in a minivan is downright silly. Whoever decided to make the effort to put that into all of their minivans was surely a bit drunk. Thankfully, it's easily ignored. But it has no place in a vehicle like this, unless you're towing something and we don't see too many minivans performing that task.
