How can it be time for an update on the depreciation of our example 2015 Volkswagen Jetta TDI? It's only been two weeks! Surely the value hasn't gone down much...or has it? Well Buffy McBufferson, the last we took a look at the KBB, it was $19,230. The current value is now...wait for it...$18,744. It's only lost $486. Is that good or is it bad?
For comparison, our 2015 Honda Accord lost $246. Wait, that's not right. Believe it or not, that value wasn't lost, it was gained. Yep, the Accord actually gained value in the past couple of weeks. Don't believe it? Look it up for yourself. Now, we know that the value won't continue that trend. It will reverse, just like most any other car. So for the sake of argument, let's just call it a wash and claim the Accord has lost nothing and gained nothing.
Who cares because the point is that the German car that was sold at a premium loses value quicker than Donald Trump retains his connection with reality. And that's saying something. Go German!
