It was inevitable; there are so many excellent female racers these days and the movement to go green is a huge one. So it was only a matter of time before somebody like Leilani Münter came along. Get used to it.
I had not heard of her, so thanks for the info. Certainly a good message to decide where and when oil is the appropriate fuel, and where we can use something else.
I would take the current claim of her "no oil" trip with a large grain of salt. The Tesla Supercharger stations mostly are powered from the grid. Much of the grid is powered by fossil fuels (natural gas, even coal) so the oil burning just happens at a different location.
On a related topic, I watched the first season of the FIA Formula E electric racing series last year. I think it gave entirely the wrong message. Drivers actually change cars at mid race, because they are not able to complete the full race distance. Good grief, so they are showing people that if you want to use an electric car, you better own two of them if you want to get anywhere. Frankly, the FIA seems unable to manage anything that they touch, so this just seems typical.
