Even without the blown V8, this is a snappy wagon.
No discussion of modern station wagons is complete with a mention of the Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon. The darling of automobile journalists who have lost all connection to reality long ago, this 556 hp, 4400 pound, under 4 second 0-60, battle wagon was out of reach for those of us with lesser funds in our bank account at around $65-$75K MSRP.
But look past the bonkers version, skip the boring 3.0 V6 and you'll find the excellent 304 hp 3.6 sixer that motivates the 4300 pound long roof.
What seems like a yardstick for me (you're probably right), the almighty important rear seat leg room for this luxury wagon is an unexceptional 36.1 inches.
I like it. I just don't love it.
So where are we at with market value? The RWD 2010 3.6 CTS Sport Wagon with a 7 second 0-60 had an MSRP of $47K. KBB private party is now $13K, add $2.5K for AWD. Still too much for my blood, but we're heading in the right direction!
Are you ready for a Caddy wagon?
Tomorrow, we'll check out a German wagon who made a stop in a Midwestern truck stop. Stay tuned!
Forgot the almighty maximum cargo capacity; it's 58 cubic feet. The Shadowagon has 67, a W211 MB has 68.9 (KBB for a 2004 E500 is currently around $6K, by the way).

ReplyDeleteI like how you cover a wide spectrum of cars, instead of just the high dollar ponies.

As much as I like this, it's another design with compromised sight lines.
