Hmmm, 3-door wagons..... I think these are only one step better than those compact four-door sedans (instead of 5-door hatches) that I was ranting about.
Did we ever try to collect a list of 3-door wagons? I would offer the Chevy Nomad and the Pinto wagon to go along with this Vega/Monza. If we already did this, please forget I suggested it, and donate generously to your local Alzheimer support organization (and no, that is not just a cheap joke).
3-door wagons always remind me of the 50s and 60s. Love them. The functionality of 4-doors makes so much more sense, but they were going for sporty. Whether that worked or not...well, we all know how that all worked out.
Thanks Bolo, for digging that list up. And you're right, it should be spelled "Kammback", with two m...s. Also correct is the reference to the design of the rear end. Frankly, I always found that a bit mysterious even though I've read a lot about it. That cut-off, squared up back end. Imagine if the song lyrics were, "I like square butts and I will not lie."

A list of 3 door wagons sounds precisely like something K2 would do. Prob did.
ReplyDeleteWhy is this called a Kamback? Does it have anything to do with W. Kamm? I remember K2's kammback'd Spider.
Found it.
