Most Compact Truck Sold In The US

Attention, thrifty haulers! What's the most compact 2016 truck sold in the United States? Let's find out.

Yeah yeah, we know that's a mid-size Dakota.
Don't get your scrunchy in a bunch.

2016 Toyota Tacoma SR Access Cab 4x4 (no 2WD available)
Engine: 2.7 4-cylinder
Transmission: 6-speed Automatic (manual more $)
Bed: 6.1 feet
MPG: 19/21
Length: 212.3 inches
Width: 74.4 inches
MSRP: $23,300

2016 Nissan Frontier S 4dr King Cab 4x2
Engine: 2.5 4-cylinder
Transmission: 5-speed Manual
Bed: 6.1 feet
MPG: 19/23
Length: 205.5 inches

2016 Chevrolet Colorado Base Extended Cab 4x2 (GMC Canyon SL dimensions identical)

Winner: Nissan Frontier, by a landslide. Who knows if you can actually get a base truck (unlikely) but it's the most compact and coincidentally cheapest brand new compact truck available for sale in the States. Many REVolutionaries will note that over 200 inches is not particularly compact, but by how much? Check it out.

1990 Nissan Truck Regular Cab Base 4x2
Engine: 2.4 4-cylinder
Transmission: 5-speed Manual
Bed: ? feet
MPG: 20/25
Length: 174.6 inches
Width: 65 inches
MSRP: ~$8,000

...progress.

  2. I'm just hoping the Canyon/Colorado Gen 2 turns out to be better than the last.
