MINI Clubman - Hey, Your Barn Door Is Open!
BMW continues to take MINI even bigger with the 2016 Clubman. Styling and putting the fact that the design impairs the drivers line of sight aside, we're particularly intrigued by the flexibility of the actual usage. Pretty neat! Is the host Canadian? We still think it should have been a straight-up hatchback, though.

Is the host Canadian? I have no idea what you are talking aboot.
ReplyDeleteI can tell you that the designers certainly were not Canadian. I would love to watch those door mechanisms struggling against a half inch layer of freezing rain, like we have this morning.
Anyway, I think the noise we can hear is not the door motors stripping their gears. It is Sir Alec Issigonis turning in his grave.
In re-viewing the video, I see that the doors may be "powered" by compressed air. In that case, they would just fail to open on a freezing rain day. Then the hapless owner would chop away for a couple of minutes when suddenly: SPROING! Owner can now pick himself up out of the slush and get on with his day.
