1996-2015 Fiat Weekend

Back to India.

Too easy, I just can't do it; insert joke here.

Just feel the quality pouring out...can't you?
Known in most parts of the world as the Palio Weekend, the Weekend Adventure was another part of India's station wagon history. Built from 1996 to present at the joint Fiat-Tata plant, the Adventure is a supermini (subcompact), traditionally styled wagon.

Wait, what century are we in?
If the Palio badge strikes a chord, you're right; it was a variant designation on the second generation Fiat 127, as well as subsequent models.

No split seatback. Uh...wow?
Based on the Uno, the Palio Weekend survived four facelifts (like a Hollywood actress - pick one) by famed designer Giorgetto Giugiaro. You might have heard of him. This might not be an example of his best work. Unsurprisingly, the Adventure eventually got the crossover treatment, which you can check out in the video below.

Determining exactly which engines and specs associated with the Adventure is difficult to ascertain. Let's just say it wasn't a performance car and was built to a low-price. The model doesn't currently appear on the official Fiat World or Fiat India sites, so I assume it's been fazed out. But based on the few reviews on Carsurvey.org, the mid-2000s crossover Adventure had the 1.6 four-banger. But which one, I don't know; there were three. It was either the "Fiasa" or "Sporting", I'm guessing. The "E.torQ" version came online in 2011. Interestingly, there was a GM-sourced 1.8 available elsewhere in the Palio line.
