Cadillac Escala Concept...Concept

Certain deep, dark corners of the InterWebz are buzzing about this Caddywagon. Why don't they make a production version of this, they moan? I'll give you 12,800 reasons why...

She's a beaut.

Rather Lincoln-esque, I think.
12,800; that's how many CTS Sport Wagons Caddy sold over the entire 2010 to 2013 run. In GM's eyes, that's pathetic and not even worth the trouble. And on the surface, they'd be right. That works out to only 3200 wagons sold per year, on average. My argument is that's the world we live it right now; not everything is a runaway sales hit and a vehicle that's basically just a variant of a sedan that does sell well...you gotta look at the total numbers. Frankly, they're (and any automaker, at this point) lucky to sell any cars at this point in history. Yes, sales are way up. But they all should be playing the long game and stop acting like television executives with itchy trigger fingers.

Keep in mind that GM didn't even make this concept of a concept. A guy named Theophilus Chin did. Nice job, by the way. Somebody hire this guy.

I don't think Cadillac is the right brand for a wagon, anyway. That would be Lincoln.
