1968 Mercury Montego Wagon MX

Time for some 'Merican metal. Found this ad recently.

Nice bruiser!

"$3000, 90K Miles. Thinking about selling my wagon. It's a 1968 Mercury Montego Wagon. Its has bench seats with blue interior. Has triple gauge setup with oil pressure/water temp/voltage. B&M floor shift. It's got a 1971 ford 429 in it right now with a C6 trans. Trans has been rebuilt and has a Transgo shift kit in it. Both the engine and trans I have fit in myself. It has an aluminum 3 core radiator. Wagon has an 8 inch rear as of right now. Engines stock besides a 750 vac sec Holley and an Edelbrock performer aluminum intake. Custom made driveshaft and new wheels with tires on the back. Brand new Powermaster starter. As of right now it needs some front end work and an alignment. Power steering pump is leaking from its front seal. The engine runs good for being 50 years old. If you have any questions or want to see the car just let me know."

This is an interesting wagon for several reasons; this is the first year for the Montego and the Cyclone variant could be had with the 7-liter 429, but not the wagon. I think that's a great upgrade, assuming it's been well done and running right. This seems like a pretty incredible deal if rust hasn't damaged too much.
