New Year's Prediction

Let's welcome (nearly) 2016 in with a car-related New Year's prediction; hey, why not? If it ends up wrong, you have our permission to say so. What could be an interesting one that would maybe not be so obvious and also be a bit surprising? Here goes...

This will be the final year for the Volkswagen CC. For 2015 (January thru November), it was in the #95 spot on the list of passenger car sales and sold 9,372 units. It outsold the Lexus LS, Nissan 370Z, Subaru BRZ, BMW 7-Series, among many others.

So why is the end nigh? Well, because it's built on the Group B platform (along with the Beetle) and those underpinnings are being phased out. The last restyle was way back in 2012, to retool would be folly for the company and there's been no reports of an update.

Could VW turn it around? You bet. But we're not going to put any money on it.

    I predict that K2 will correct this post, since we are about to begin 2016, not 2017.
