"1968 Ford Galaxie 500, 71,000 original miles. Very good condition. Runs well. Asking $6,800. Make a Reasonable Offer"
Not terribly wordy but the pictures tell much of the story. Well known to REVolutionaries, the third generation Galaxie was a all-new design at the time, which was produced from only 1965-1968 and was basically the same car as the Mercury S-55.
These handsome cars are smooth boulevard cruisers that are easy to maintain, with the ravages of time (read: rust), less than sporty handling and fuelishness being the only detractors. We love that green color.
"Did you know the human eye can see more shades of green than any other color?"
If anybody ever says that to you in all seriousness, turn and run.
Unbelievable find! This is like finding a message in a bottle washed up in the sand.
ReplyDeleteRegarding Bemidji Minnesota, here are three guesses:
ReplyDelete- you are a huge fan of Paul Bunyan and his Blue Ox
- you are planning to enter the Finlandia Cross Country Ski Marathon
- you are secretly Scottish, and are drawn to Bemidji as the Curling Capital of America.
Oh, but nice find on the Galaxy. Twenty years ago, these were hard to sell for $1500.
N,
ReplyDeleteI know, right? Pretty surprising find; didn't expect something like that to come sneaking out of somebody's garage.
B,
Ha ha! All good guesses but no. Big fan of the television show "Fargo", which takes place in Bemidgi in season one.
And I AM Scottish, so there's that. But curling is not for me! There's even a local club nearby but I'm still not interested.
