The successor to yesterday's Rebel, the ridiculously named Kitten was definitely a step up in power, handling and sophistication. But not a huge leap; I mean c'mon, we're talking about Reliant here. Don't get crazy now!
I would love to have been in the meeting when they decided that the next model name after "Regal" and "Rebel" would be..... "Kitten". Somehow, I have the idea that the Old Guard must have retired just before then.
Nonetheless, the narrator's comment that he was doing 70 mph down the motorway should just remind us that our current batch of cars really are excessive in so many ways.
At least I got the right video today. And you're right; we're in overkill mode with most cars these days. It seems like EVERY car is an "enthusiast" model.
I remember driving one of the first Suzuki Samurai, when they began offering them here in the States. I hopped on the freeway with it just to see what it would do. It was pretty hairy and it was slow as molasses (not to mention noisy), but I was able to keep up with traffic just fine once up to speed.
