1956-1962 EMW Wartburg 311 Kombiwagon
That's right, BMW did own EMW. They even used the same numeric model naming scheme. Creative. These bad boys sported a two-stroke, three-cylinder, 900 cc engine that blasted out a powerhouse 37 bhp. The one in the video below is apparently a "Camping" variant, which had four doors instead of two and features that fantastic 2-stroke motor sound. Bitchin'! I want one, real bad!

That was it !??!?!?! I was waiting for something to happen, or for someone to give us a tour around that amazing wagon. What a tease you are, K2!
ReplyDeleteHa ha! So sorry. I was in a hurry and that's the best video I could find in the amount of time I had. At least you can sort of see the dash a bit and the sound of that engine is wonderful. So many YT obscure car videos are just slideshows set to bad music. I don't know what possesses people to create them.
DeleteOh, it was worth the watch anyway. Yes, love to hear that 2-stroke brappppp. That video still makes me wonder if it was a trailer for a longer story. On the other hand, looking at the footwear and the pedicure, I am not sure I would feel safe searching for the longer version!
DeleteI just had no idea that the world of wagons was so vast!
