Did you know that Daihatsu is not only the oldest Japanese carmaker? Did you also know that, as of this very month, it's now owned by Toyota? Yep. The Charmont has two generations; from 74-81 and 82-87. The station wagon was badged "Van" in the JDM.

Interesting. So what was their status when they were peddling rebadged Corollas?
ReplyDeleteJust another kei car maker, as far as I recall. The relationship with Toyota goes back about 50 years, but they produced several of their own vehicles over time. I've only ever driven a Charade and a Rocky.
